Strict schools

The moment we think of education system in India the first thing that strikes our mind is “strict and discipline.” One can’t deny that education is extremely important.  One can’t deny that strict and discipline are important, but you are strict on whom? What would be the impact of this strict behavior on those who do not even know what strict means. People should be strict on them who are doing wrong things knowingly and not with those who do not even know the definition of strictness. What does this strict means to the new ones to whom the school environment itself is new and struggling to get adjusted. Instead of helping the new ones to get adjusted, schools are strict making their life ruthless.

There are schools whose captions even say “Here discipline is a way of life.” For grownups this behavior makes sense but why do schools behave the same way with tiny tots.

Parenting

Parents should try to find and encourage schools that understand the psychology of a child, recognizes individual aptitude and nurtures them to meet the challenges of the future.  Let us not try to pressurize tiny tots. We don’t want our little ones to become scientist from the age of 3 or 4.  Let them go to school but allow them to enjoy their moments.  Let the learning be little fun and little learning.

Most parents are so anxious of their child’s future studies begining from the child’s pre-school.  Parents want their kids to be ahead of other kids.  I have seen parents even beating up their pre-school going children for not standing first in the class, the concept(1st rank) which the child even can’t understand.  They are bogged down by competition.  As parents, we need to allow children to absorb the  uncomplicated lessons of life.  We should let our children cherish their childhood experiences.
